The M.T.A. distributes a variety of publications to keep both carriers and shippers up-to-date on the latest news, ideas and information. These publications include:
TRUCKING IN MANITOBA, A HISTORY
is comprehensive illustrated book detailing the history of trucking in Manitoba from 1990 to the present day. Commissioned by the Manitoba Trucking Association, this hard cover 400 page (81/2" by 11") perfect bound book is the only publication detailing the history of trucking in Manitoba. The history is presented in two parts. Part 1 is a chronology of the development of trucking in Manitoba. One hundred and eighty corporate profiles in Part 2 pay tribute to the carriers past and present and suppliers of goods and services to the industry.
THE M.T.A. NEWSLETTER
keeps members up-to-date on everything that is happening in the industry. Time-sensitive information, which cannot wait for publication in the Western Highway News, is disseminated through the Newsletter. It is circulated every month. Associated Trade members may submit promotional pieces for distribution along with the Newsletter, for a small fee. The M.T.A. Newsletter is only available to M.T.A. members.
WESTERN CANADA HIGHWAY NEWS
is a quarterly magazine published by the M.T.A., along with the Alberta and Saskatchewan Trucking Associations. It now serves all of Western Canada. Bob Dolyniuk is a contributing editor; production and advertising are handled by Craig Kelman and Associates. In addition to a feature story in each issue, the magazine keeps readers up-to-date on everything affecting the industry, from International regulations to political items, safety features to new products. Submissions of general interest, and paid advertisements, are welcome. All members receive complimentary subscriptions; other may subscribe for $12.00 per year.
THE MANITOBA SHIP-BY-TRUCK DIRECTORY
is a "must have" resource for shippers and carriers. It lists Winnipeg Truck Terminals, destinations served by PSV (public service vehicle) operators, distance guides, conditions governing freight movement, licensing information, Manitoba Motor Transport Board Policies and information, City of Winnipeg Truck Routes and By-Laws, size and weight regulations for Manitoba, Canada and the US. It is revised and updated annually; contact Laurie Bracken for editorial changes. Paid advertisements are welcome; contact Craig Kelman and Associates at (204) 985-9785.
LIBRARY
The Association maintains a small library of books, reports, magazines, pamphlets and videotapes.
