The Manitoba Trucking Association is pleased to support the future of our industry; every year, the MTA offers $8,000 in awards and scholarships to deserving individuals. Awards are offered in two categories: academic awards, and apprenticeship awards. Details of each award are listed below.

Academic Awards
Edward M. Ewanochko Transportation Scholarship Award (one scholarship of $500)
This award is provided to assist students either planning to study or already pursuing post-secondary education in a field related to the transportation industry. This award was created in honour of Edward Ewanochko, a seminal figure in the development of transportation risk management programs in Manitoba, to promote professional growth within the truck transportation industry.

Winnipeg Transportation Club Scholarship (one scholarship of $500)
This award is provided to assist students either planning to study or already pursuing post-secondary education in a field related to the transportation industry. This scholarship was created in to promote professional growth within the truck transportation industry.

Associated Trades Division Scholarship (three scholarships of $1000 each, for first year tuition assistance)
Since 1986, the Manitoba Trucking Association has offered scholarships for the dependants of employees of member companies. These awards are open to dependant children of employees of MTA member companies. The Manitoba Trucking Association and the Associated Trades Division is pleased to be able to reward scholastic excellence and assist these students in furthering their education.

Apprenticeship Awards
Associated Trades Division Awards
Each year, two $1000 scholarships are awarded to MTA member company employees. One is for the individual who achieves the highest marks on his or her level 2 examinations in the Manitoba Truck Transport Mechanic division; the other goes to the MTA member company employee who achieves the highest marks on his or her level 2 examinations in the Transport Trailer Technician Apprenticeship program.
Vehicle Maintenance Council Awards
Each year, two $1000 scholarships are awarded to MTA member company employees. One is for the individual who achieves the highest marks on his or her level 1 examinations in the Manitoba Truck Transport Mechanic division; the other goes to the MTA member company employee who achieves the highest marks on his or her level 1 examinations in the Transport Trailer Technician Apprenticeship program.
Applications are not required for the Apprenticeship Awards.
These awards are available only to employees or dependants of Manitoba Trucking Association member companies.
