PDIC & LCV Instructor Courses


The MTA is pleased to be able to offer PDIC and LCV Instructor courses to in-house trainers of carrier fleets. In order to receive the best training, please review the following course outlines and pre-requisites to determine what courses are necessary for you or your employee.


Facilitator Skills

This course is required for anyone who does not have experience as an instructor or instructor training. This is a one-day course offered by the MTA.


PDIC Instructor

This one-day course is required for anyone interested in teaching PDIC in-house to drivers and employees. Please review the checklist of pre-requisites on the second page of the PDIC Instructor application form.


LCV Instructor

This one-day course is required for anyone interested in teaching LCV in-house to drivers and employees. Please review the checklist of pre-requisites on the second page of the LCV Instructor application form.


Presentation Assessment

This is a half-day wrap-up, required for anyone who is interested in becoming an in-house fleet instructor of LCV, PDIC, or both. All participants are required to complete a 20-minute presentation as part of obtaining their instructor certificate.

Please read carefully:
Each of these courses has its own registration form, as different participants will have different training requirements. For example, one company may be interested in training a PDIC instructor who already has a Class 1 Driver Instructor certificate. To complete the certification process, this participant would require the PDIC instructor course and the presentation assessment. Another company may be interested in training someone entirely new as an instructor of LCV driving and PDIC. In this case, that individual would require the facilitating skills course, PDIC Instructor, LCV Instructor and presentation assessment (only required once for LCV and PDIC; do not need to register for it as part of LCV Instructor and as part of PDIC Instructor if taking both courses). If you are completing more than one registration form for a participant, please complete only one form entirely. On subsequent forms, you can simply list the participant’s name and the company.
